Deck The Halls - for Percussion Ensemble (2023)
Difficulty: Very Easy - Ideal for early middle school ensembles (Grade 1)
Duration: c. 2’
Commissioned for the 2023-2024 Connally Middle School Percussion Studio, San Antonio, Texas; Mr. Derek Gonzalez, Director.
A Christmas classic, Deck The Halls was arranged as an achievable yet satisfying version of this tune. Instrumentation is flexible, where multiple students may play the same instruments, or cut down on some parts so that you can still get the full sound with a smaller group.
This piece features whole, dotted half, half, dotted quarter, quarter, and eighth notes. It’s in the key of F, and instruments do not go below or above the staff, with the exception of the timpani, who plays an F below bass staff. Dynamics include forte, piano, crescendo, diminuendo, and accents.
Score and parts are 8.5x11 PDFs and will be delivered digitally.
